Hey there, I’m Piers Day :)
This is what I do when everything else hasn’t worked:
Let’s be honest — if you’re here, it’s probably not your first time looking for help. You’ve read the books, tried the apps, done the breathing techniques, maybe even seen a therapist or two. You might have walked out of a GP’s office with a prescription, or worse, been told that how you feel is “just life” and to push through it.
But what if it’s not just life?
What if the version of you that’s tired, anxious, numb, burnt out, overwhelmed, shut down, or stuck in your own head isn’t who you really are — it’s just where your system ended up?
That’s where I come in.
I’ve been doing this work for over 25 years — helping people unravel what’s underneath their symptoms. Not masking things with medication. Not handing out coping strategies that last ten minutes. But working at the root. The nervous system. The subconscious. The patterns that most therapy never gets near.
I’m not a doctor, and I won’t pretend to be. But what I offer often works where other routes haven’t. No pills. No side effects. No diagnosis that follows you around. Just real, private, one-to-one work that’s focused entirely on helping you feel like yourself again.
This is therapy for the people who don’t want to sit in a room and talk about their childhood for two years. This is for the people who need a shift — not someday, but now.
The people who come to me?
They’re not weak. They’re not broken. They’re often the ones holding everyone else up.
I work with a wide range of people — from teenagers who feel like they’re spiralling to business owners who can’t switch off at night. Doctors, lawyers, musicians, stay-at-home parents, professional athletes, entrepreneurs, NHS staff, therapists, tradespeople, and everything in between.
Some were referred to me by a consultant or a private GP who’s seen all the options and trusts me when someone needs real, fast results. Others were sent by friends who said, “Just go see Piers — he’s different.” A few come quietly, after trying everything else and still not feeling right.
During COVID, the NHS reached out and asked if I could help their frontline staff. Not with meds. Not with waiting lists. Just with space. Calm. Recovery. I worked with ICU nurses, admin staff, doctors, and support teams — people who were holding trauma inside and had nowhere to put it. It wasn’t just stress. It was grief. Exhaustion. Guilt. Panic. That experience showed me again what I already knew: if the body doesn’t feel safe, the mind can’t let go. And until someone helps you get back into your body, you stay stuck in survival mode — no matter how smart you are.
How I work:
My original training was at the Cambridge College of Hypnotherapy. Since then, I’ve trained with some of the most respected minds in the field:
Cal Banyan, creator of 5-PATH and 7th Path® Self-Hypnosis
Jamie Smart and Ian McDermott, experts in NLP and high-performance coaching
Matt Sison and Randy Shaw, pioneers in emotional release and subconscious healing
Gary Craig, founder of EFT
Jan Elfine, master coach and therapeutic trainer
Tania A Prince, one of the UK's leading trauma and emotional change experts
The result? I’ve built my own integrated approach. It’s not scripted. It’s not one-size-fits-all. It’s based on what works. Quickly. Calmly. Deeply.
I use techniques like:
Clinical Hypnotherapy
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
EMDR, Psytap, and Kinetic Shift
Guided Affective Imagery and Subconscious Repatterning
Nervous System Regulation and Emotional Reset Work
What matters isn’t the method. It’s the shift. We don’t just talk about your fear, burnout, panic, or addiction. We work directly with the systems that are running it. You start to feel better not because you forced it — but because your body no longer thinks it needs to protect you from everything.
The real difference
When people ask why my work feels different, this is what I tell them:
Nothing we do goes on your record. This is your space. Private and off-grid.
I won’t put you on a path that requires years. If something can change in a session or two, it will.
I don’t do surface-level fixes. We go to the root, safely, and sort it at the source.
I’ll never tell you to “just think positive.” I meet you where you are — and we move from there.
I’ll treat you like a person. Not a diagnosis. Not a label. Not a problem to solve.
And most importantly? I’ve been doing this long enough to know when someone just needs to be seen. That alone can change everything.
Where I work
I run sessions online and in person from my peaceful spaces in Bury St Edmunds. I also mentor therapists, run workshops, and offer group spaces for men and for mental health professionals. You’ll find me on Zoom with clients from across the world, and in quiet face-to-face work with people who’ve been waiting for someone who finally gets it.
I’m also a registered member of:
🟢 GHR - General Hypnotherapy Register
🌿 IAEBP – International Association for Evidence-Based Psychotherapy
🔷 NCH – National Council for Hypnotherapy
But most of all, I’m someone who believes that your story matters — and that how you feel right now doesn’t have to be permanent.
If you’re ready to let go of what’s been weighing you down, I’m ready when you are.
My Story
Before I ever trained as a therapist, I worked in property. Back in the late eighties and early nineties, things were going well. The business was growing. Life looked successful from the outside. But when the market crashed, so did everything I’d built. I lost the business. The income. The identity I’d wrapped around being in control. It felt like the ground had gone.
Not long after, one of my closest friends took his own life. That moment didn’t just hurt — it changed everything. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Why didn’t he say anything? Why didn’t I see it? Why didn’t he feel safe enough to ask for help?
That experience was the turning point. I realised how many people are suffering quietly, carrying things alone, not because they’re weak but because no one’s ever given them space to be real. I left the business world behind and began training. Hypnotherapy, subconscious work, trauma release. Not to build a new career — but because I needed to understand how people heal. And how to become the kind of person someone can actually open up to.
That was over 25 years ago. I’ve never looked back.
When COVID hit, I offered free sessions to NHS staff — just to help. They were burnt out, grieving, running on adrenaline and panic. I saw firsthand how deep the emotional toll was. So I showed up. Quietly. Consistently. No charge. Just space to breathe and someone to hold what they couldn’t speak anywhere else. I wanted to help break the stigma. No records. No labels. No scripts. Just healing.
Then I got COVID myself. And it hit hard. I ended up in hospital, and it reached the point where I was told I’d need to go on a ventilator. For a moment, everything stopped. I was flat on my back, struggling to breathe, scared in a way I hadn’t been in years.
But I still had the tools. I focused. I dropped into hypnosis. I spoke to my body. I slowed everything down — heart rate, thoughts, panic, the lot. Not because I was trying to escape, but because I knew what was possible when the system feels safe.
And something changed.
The staff started noticing. Nurses checked in more often, curious. One told me she’d never seen anyone stabilise like that. They treated me like a bit of a mystery. But for me, it just proved what I already knew — that when the body feels safe, it can begin to heal. And that safety can be created, even in the darkest moments.
That’s what I offer now.
Whether you’re carrying trauma, anxiety, shame, burnout, fear, or something you can’t even name yet — I’ve been there. Not in theory. In life. This work isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you come back to yourself, safely and fully.
I didn’t start this work as a therapist. I started it as someone who needed it.
